Maximum Entropy Correlated Equilibria
We study maximum entropy correlated equilibria in (multiplayer) games and provide two gradient-based algorithms that are guaranteed to converge to such equilibria. Although we do not provide convergence rates for these algorithms, they do have strong connections to other algorithms (such as iterative scaling) which are effective heuristics for tasks such as statistical estimation.
متن کاملMaximum a posteriori maximum entropy order determination
An instance crucial to most problems in signal processing is the selection of the order of a presupposed model. Examples are the determination of the putative number of signals present in white Gaussian noise or the number of noise-contaminated sources impinging on a passive sensor array. It is shown that Maximum a Posteriori Bayesian arguments, coupled with Maximum Entropy considerations, offe...
متن کاملArea of Origin, But Not Farm or Sex, Predicts Horse Carcass Weight as a Main Effect
The aim of this study was to evaluate the differences between cold carcass weights (CCW) for the Catalan Pyrenean horse (Cavall pirinenc català) breed according to different variables: area of origin, farm, gender and age. Linear regression models were applied using a generalized linear model (GLM) procedure for CCW of 397 animals (217 males and 180 females) slaughtered in a commercial abattoir...
متن کاملCentrifugal bias for second-order but not first-order motion.
Limited-lifetime Gabor stimuli were used to assess both first- and second-order motion in peripheral vision. Both first- and second-order motion mechanisms were present at a 20-deg eccentricity. Second-order motion, unlike first-order, exhibits a bias for centrifugal motion, suggesting a role for the second-order mechanism in optic flow processing.
متن کاملUnsteady Magneto Hydro Dynamic Flow of a Second Order Fluid over an Oscillating Sheet with a Second Order Slip Flow Model
Unsteady slip-flow of second grade non-Newtonian electrically conducting fluid over an oscillating sheet has been considered and solved numerically. A second-order slip velocity model is used to predict the flow characteristic past the wall. With the assumption of infinite length in x-direction, velocity of the fluid can be assumed as a function of y and t, hence, with proper variable change pa...
